Size guide – Straps Mattès

Take measurements

Re-cinch before measuring strap length. Cinching should be done at the same hole on each side.

Measure from the bottom edge of one quarter to the bottom edge of the other quarter, subtract 30 cm. Always round up to the next length.

EXAMPLE :
Measurement = 101 cm
Subtraction  101 – 30 = 71cm
Strap length = 75 cm

🛑 Make sure that the loops of the new strap are located clearly above the range of movement of the elbow!

Choose the type of strap

anatomical

For horses with a marked girth passage located sufficiently far from the elbow. The girth is cut at the front and back at the elbow.
(The strap can be rotated.)

asymmetric

For horses with a girth passage close to the elbow or less marked, when the girth tends to slide forward. At the front, the girth has a strong cut at the elbow.

half moon

For "rounder" horses with a short back, wide rib cage and narrow chest. Thanks to its special shape, the girth follows the curve of the ribs well, which prevents it from slipping forward.

athletic

For horses with an athletic build that tapers towards the rear. In almost all cases, the special cut of the girth prevents the saddle and girth from sliding backwards.
