🐎 Why choose this product?
Fill weight is the amount of filling, in grams per square metre: it determines the warmth. As a general guide: 0 to 50 g for basic rain protection, 100 to 150 g for transitional seasons, 200 to 300 g for winter, and more for a clipped horse or one that lives outdoors. A horse that sweats under its rug is too hot: it is better to choose slightly less filling than to leave the horse wet with sweat.
🧴 Care and use advice
Brush the rug when dry rather than washing it too often: every wash damages the waterproof coating. ⚠️ Do not use fabric softener, as it clogs the breathable membrane. After a few seasons, a re-waterproofing product for technical fabrics can restore its water-repellent finish. ⚠️ The stated size is the back length: measure your horse from the withers to the base of the tail, along the spine. A rug that is too short pulls on the shoulders and rubs at the withers; one that is too long twists and may cause the horse to catch its feet in it.
