Small breeds are poorly served when it comes to turnout blankets; this one uses the same construction as larger models. 600-denier ripstop fabric with a 3,000 mm water column rating, 100 g wadding, and a smooth polyester lining. The crossed surcingles with elastic inserts, tail flap, and low tail strap keep it in place on a playful pony. Swivel-hook chest fastening. The reflective strip on the tail flap makes the pony visible in a field beside the road. Please note that Kavalkade gives these sizes by height at the withers, not back length.

A Shetland lives outdoors all year round, yet no one makes a proper blanket for it. This one has the same fabric and filling as the horse models.
🧴 Care instructions
Fasten all the hook-and-loop closures and place the blanket in a sturdy laundry bag: without one, the hardware bangs against the drum, comes undone, and rusts. Wash at 30 °C on a delicate cycle, using a special detergent for outdoor blankets. Do not re-waterproof it: the waterproofing comes from a coating applied to the back of the fabric, which water-repellent products damage. Once a year, a specialist cleaner can take care of the rest.
