Avoid using any detergent, as it can damage the rubber. Leave them to air-dry, including the inside, and never place them near a heat source; crumpled newspaper tucked inside will speed up the drying process. For long-term storage, clean and dry your boots thoroughly, then keep them away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place.
