An outdoor blanket cut for Icelandic horses: wider at the chest, with 50 g filling, in 1200-denier ripstop.
Icelandic horses need more room at the chest, and that is precisely what Kavalkade has modified here — two rings also allow for fine adjustment. The 1200-denier polyester ripstop fabric withstands a 4,000 mm water column and has a breathability rating of 3,000 g/m² over 24 hours; it resists tearing and abrasion. The blanket is made without a back seam, with a forward-cut withers area: it measures approximately 10 cm longer than the horse’s back, deliberately, so it sits in front of the withers, covers the shoulder and does not slip backwards when the horse lowers its head. Velcro chest closure with two rings, crossed surcingle, large tail flap, low tail strap, smooth lining, optional thigh straps and loops for the matching neck cover. The sizes correspond to a withers height of approximately 135 cm for the 120 and approximately 145 cm for the 130.

🐎 Why choose this product?
On an Icelandic horse, a pony blanket is tight at the chest while a horse blanket hangs loose over the back. The Icelandic cut solves both issues at once.
🧴 Care instructions
Fasten all the Velcro closures and place the blanket in a sturdy laundry bag: without one, the hardware hits the drum, opens and rusts. Wash at 30 °C on a delicate cycle, using a special detergent for outdoor blankets. Do not re-waterproof it: the waterproofing comes from a coating applied to the back of the fabric, which water-repellent products can damage. Once a year, a specialist dry cleaner can take care of the rest.
