🐎 Why choose this product?
At 50 g, this blanket protects against rain and wind without making your foal too warm: it is just what a foal with its winter coat and its mother, but no shelter, needs. The weight refers to the amount of filling, in grams per square metre: this is what provides warmth. As a general guide: 0 to 50 g for basic rain protection, 100 to 150 g for transitional seasons, 200 to 300 g for winter, and more for a clipped horse or one that lives outdoors. A horse that sweats under its blanket is too warm: it is better to choose a slightly lighter weight than to have a horse wet with sweat.
🧴 Care instructions
Brush the blanket while dry rather than washing it too often: each wash damages the waterproof coating. ⚠️ Do not use fabric softener, as it clogs the breathable membrane. After a few seasons, a reproofing product for technical fabrics can restore the water-repellent finish. ⚠️ The size indicated is the back length: measure your horse from the withers to the base of the tail, along the spine. A blanket that is too short pulls on the shoulders and rubs the withers; one that is too long shifts around and the horse may catch its feet in it.
