Solid stainless steel double-jointed gag bit, with an 18 mm mouthpiece and large 75 mm rings.
With a gag bit, the cheekpieces and reins are not attached in the same place as on an ordinary bridle: rein pressure makes the mouthpiece slide upward in the horse’s mouth and transfers pressure to the poll.

🐎 Why choose this product?
With a double-jointed mouthpiece, the bit is made up of three parts, and the central section lies flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than a single-jointed bit, but eliminates the V effect toward the palate. ⚠️ A gag bit acts upward and puts pressure on the poll: it is a leverage bit that requires a measured hand and an experienced rider.
🧴 Usage advice
Measure the width from one ring to the other, with the mouthpiece pulled taut. ⚠️ A bit that is too narrow pinches the corners of the mouth; one that is too wide moves around in the mouth and knocks against the teeth. Allow approximately half a centimetre of mouthpiece showing on each side.
