An overreach boot covers the heel and the edge of the coronet band, where the hind hoof can strike when the horse loses a shoe or overreaches. It is the least expensive form of protection for the horse, and the one that prevents the injury that takes the longest to heal. This one adds a rhinestone collar to the essentials, making it suitable for presentations and dressage competitions.
🧴 Instructions for use
⚠️ An overreach boot that is too large will turn and be stepped on; one that is too small will rub the coronet band. When the foot is resting on the ground, it should touch the ground at the back, and no further. Clean the rhinestone collar with a soft brush. Place it on a clean, dry hoof, with the opening facing backward and the Velcro directed outward, so that a hoof branch cannot open it. It should rest on the ground without tightening around the coronet band. ⚠️ Remove it after the session. Rinse with clean water after use and leave to air-dry. Regularly check the condition of the Velcro fasteners: they are the first part to fail.
