Horseware LED Light Therapy User Manual

Boots, mini boot, hock protector, Poll Cap bonnet, rug, dog boot and coat, wand: Horseware LED light therapy products combine red light (660 nm, surface) and infrared light (850 nm, soft tissue). Each product comes with an instruction booklet; this manual covers the essentials.

Essential precautions

Always consult your veterinarian before starting a treatment program. Introduce any new product with caution to ensure that your horse or animal is comfortable with the product.
Do not use LED products on open wounds.
Never shine the LED light directly into the eyes, as this could injure or damage them.
Stop using the product if it shows signs of visible damage, cracks, tears, lights that do not work, or if it does not recharge properly.
Make sure the animal is not wet during use, to reduce the risk of water entering the charging ports or LED pixels.

All models: 660 nm (red) + 850 nm (infrared).

Fixed program (green button)

Suitable for the boots, hock protector, bonnet, rug, boot and dog coat. Each product has three settings per program and an automatic timer that switches off the treatment after 15 minutes.

Press the on/off button once: it turns green, and the red light turns on.
Press a second time: the button turns red, and the red and infrared lights turn on.
Press a third time: only the infrared light is on.
Press a fourth time: the product switches off and the button is no longer lit.

When only infrared light is on, the inside of the product may appear to be off: the infrared light is nevertheless on as long as the on/off button is lit.

Pulse programme (blue button)

Press the on/off button once quickly, then a second time while holding it down for 3 seconds: the button turns blue, and flashing mode starts with red light only.
Press again: red light and infrared light in flashing mode.
Press a third time: infrared light only in flashing mode.
Press a fourth time: the product switches off and the button no longer lights up.

At the end of the 15-minute cycle, the on/off button switches off. The boots, pad, bonnet and coat are silent.

5-LED wand

Use the wand only with the safety glasses provided. Do not look directly at the light and never shine it into a person's or animal's eyes. The wand is more powerful than the LED bonnet, boots and pad and can cause damage to eyesight.

It is automatically programmed for a 3-minute cycle.
Each press of the on/off button switches to the next lighting mode; the fourth press switches it off. Refer to the supplied booklet for details of the three modes.
It emits a short beep when switched on and at the end of the 3-minute cycle.
It can be used with the interchangeable wand designed for acupressure points.
Supplied in a small case: a wand, two batteries, protective glasses and a cleaning cloth.

Fitting and sizes

Pad: a large size, with two detachable Velcro straps for a full range of adjustment and positioning. The straps have Velcro at each end and can be attached anywhere on the back of the pad.
Leg wraps and hock protectors: elastic and highly adjustable; depending on the animal, they fit from large ponies to large horses.
Dog coat: one size fits all, for medium to large dogs.

Charging

Products with a built-in battery:

Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the port located near the on/off button.
Plug the other end into the supplied adapter, or into any transformer or USB-C port.
During charging, the button is red; once fully charged, it turns off.

Charging time: 5 hours (LED products and wand batteries).
Do not leave any product or LED battery uncharged for more than 6 weeks.

Cleaning and storage

Perforated neoprene interior exposing the LED pixels; neoprene exterior designed to hold the hook fasteners for attaching the strips.

Dog coat

Washable PVC. Follow the same cleaning and storage instructions as below.

Brush gently or wipe with a cloth only.
Do not immerse the product in water: you could damage the USB-C port.
If dirt has accumulated on the LED pixels, dip a cloth in alcohol and clean only the LEDs.
Lay flat or roll gently, as in the original packaging. Do not fold the product: one or more LEDs could become disconnected from their power source. Proper storage is required to maintain the warranty.
Store in a cool, dry place protected from moisture, avoiding excessive heat and exposure to UV rays.

Wand

Lightweight aluminum exterior. Wipe only with a clean towel. Store it in its original case, in a cool, dry place protected from moisture, avoiding excessive heat and exposure to UV rays.
