🐎 Why choose this product?
The pockets under the rubber hold shims, allowing the same pad to be adjusted for a horse that is building muscle, a change of season, or two horses sharing one saddle. On the sides, it stops at the beginning of the panels, level with the middle of your thigh — the shoulder remains clear.
Kavalkade, however, advises against the straight cut for horses with prominent withers, which are better suited to the rounded cut, and for horses sensitive to shoulder pressure, for which the Shape cut extends lower and avoids sharp edges.
🔎 What is a correction pad used for?
Kavalkade identifies four uses: evening out pressure across the back and avoiding pressure points, compensating for uneven musculature, temporarily correcting a slight fit issue — while a young horse finishes developing — and adapting the same saddle to several horses.
The manufacturer itself specifies that a correction pad does not replace a well-fitted saddle or a suitably shaped girth.
