The Lewes is a side & pull bridle: it is also used without a bit, but its action is very different from that of a hackamore. No shanks, no leverage—the reins attach to the noseband on either side, providing a directional and gentle action, similar to that of an ethological halter.
The noseband and crownpiece are padded and made of high-quality supple English leather, with shiny buckles and imitation diamond decorations.

🧴 Care and usage advice
⚠️ A horse accustomed to a bit must be reintroduced gradually: start at a walk in a fully enclosed arena. Adjust the noseband two fingers below the cheekbone. Care for it with glycerin soap, followed by leather grease.
