A breastplate does not magically hold the saddle in place: it prevents it from sliding back on a round-backed horse with little or no withers, or when riding downhill during cross-country. The elastic is what sets this version apart from 232015: it offers greater tolerance during exertion, both over jumps and on the flat.
🧴 Care instructions
⚠️ Adjust it so that you can fit one flat hand between the leather and the point of the shoulder: if it is too tight, it restricts the shoulder’s range of movement, which shows in the stride before it shows on the coat. Clean with glycerin soap, then apply leather grease once the leather is dry. ⚠️ Never dry leather near a radiator: it will harden and crack.
