Designed for the thick mane of Icelandic horses: an open crownpiece, no throatlash, and glittering details.

An Icelandic horse has a mane and forelock that few bridles can accommodate. “Freya” was redesigned for them: its anatomical crownpiece features a cutout that relieves pressure on the nuchal ligament and allows the mane to pass through, and it is lined with soft padding. The bridle has no throatlash, further reducing bulk where the mane is thickest. Its Hanoverian noseband sits beneath the bit. The leather is naturally tanned and supple from the very first day. Rhinestones adorn the noseband and browband, extended by a glittering trim; the fittings match the decoration. Supplied without reins; matching rhinestone reins are available in the catalogue.

🐎 Why choose this product?

The open crownpiece is not merely an aesthetic detail: it frees the mane ridge, allows air to circulate, reduces pressure on nerve pathways and therefore reduces heat buildup beneath the leather. On a horse with a thick mane, this is what separates a bridle that stays securely in place from one that slips.

🧴 Care instructions

Remove dust and sweat with a soft cloth after every ride, then condition the leather with a suitable soap or balm. Avoid the rhinestones and glittering trim when applying grease: greasy products can dull them. Store the bridle in a bag, away from sunlight and moisture.

Composition

Leather 90%, stainless steel 5%, EVA foam 2%, glass 1.5%, brass 1.5%.
