⚠️ A hackamore is not gentle simply because it is bitless: the shanks create leverage, and the pressure is concentrated on the nasal bone, where the bone is thin. It is useful for a horse with an injured mouth or one that cannot tolerate a bit, provided it is adjusted carefully and used with a light hand.
🧴 Care instructions
Clean the leather with glycerin soap, then condition it. Rinse the shanks with clean water. ⚠️ Check the fit: the noseband must rest on the nasal bone, never on the nostril cartilage.
