🧵 How to fit your Horseware rug
The fit of your rug is essential for your horse's comfort and to prevent rubbing or premature wear. Every horse has a different build, so it is recommended to take accurate measurements before choosing a size.
📐 Measuring points
- A → B: from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulders, to the centre of the tail
- C → D: from the withers to the base of the tail (back seam)
📝 Tip: once the A-B measurement has been taken, subtract 10 cm (4 inches) to determine the size to order.

⚖️ Rug weight
Horseware rugs are available in different weights. Here is a simplified scale:
- Lightweight: 50g
- Mediumweight: 200g / 250g
- Heavyweight: 300g / 400g
A waterproof Turnout rug is ideal for horses living in the field. Remember to adapt the weight to the weather conditions.
