- Tree collar based on glue against ants and earwigs.
- Physical barrier preventing pests from climbing into the aerial parts of the tree.
- Does not dirty the bark of trees.
Transparent glue composed of poly and isobutenes
Use
- For preventive control which helps to avoid invasions of crawling insect pests such as:
- Ants - carrying aphids and thus energizing colonies.
- Aphids - directly contributing to the general weakening of the infested tree.
- Earwigs that cut into stone fruits at the end of ripening.
- Defoliating caterpillars and other crawling insects feeding on young stems/leaves.
- First, wrap the moss around the trunk (at least 40 cm from the ground), stretch, secure with two pins and cut off the excess.
- Then, do the same with the green mesh, avoiding overlapping in the same place.
- Once in place, the collar is ready to be glued. Apply two lines of glue, in order to create a better barrier against ants.
- .At the point where the foam strip overlaps, check that there is no way for ants to pass through; in this case, apply a few drops of glue to block their passage.
- Check once a month that the collar is not saturated with insects.
- Reapply glue if necessary.
- avoid the presence of tall grass or low branches, which would create passages for insects to reach the upper parts of the tree without going through the trunk.
- Collar life: until saturated by insects; if necessary, the collar can be reglued using the glue tube.
