Welcome to the world of WHIS!

Follow the steps below to turn on and pair the devices.

Pairing

  1. Press and hold the “SET” and “–” buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds and turn on the device with the power switch.
  2. Immediately after, do the same for the second device.
  3. Repeat until the word “pairing” appears on both screens.
  4. The lights turn green once the devices are paired.
The screen displays the letter M (Master / instructor) or S (Student / rider). The device with the “M” is intended for the instructor and must always be turned on. 

Change channel

  1. Turn off the “Master” device with the switch.
  2. Then press “SET” while turning the device on with the switch.
  3. The device is then unlocked.
  4. Use + / – to select the desired channel.
  5. If inactive for 5 seconds, the device will automatically lock again.

The master channel is controlling: the other device will automatically switch to the same channel.

Adjust the microphone and earphone volume

  1. Connect the headsets to the devices.
  2. Adjust the earphone volume with “+” and “–”.
  3. To change the microphone volume:
    1. Turn off the device first.
    2. Press “SET” and turn the device back on: it is unlocked.
    3. Then use the “SET” button to adjust the microphone volume.
  4. MUTE: press and hold “SET” to mute. The screen displays “MUTE”. Press and hold “SET” to unmute.

The microphone sound is muted so others cannot hear this device. 

Additional information

Using the earphones

  • Make sure the earphones are always properly inserted.
  • WHIS accepts any type of earphones equipped with a 3.5 mm plug in CTIA format (generally, mobile phone earbuds).
  • Sound quality depends on the earphones used.

“Listen only” mode

Plug the microphone and earphone into the top of the device. It does not matter which device the microphone or earphone is plugged into. 

Charging the device

  1. Use only the original charger.
  2. Choose the attachment matching your country’s electrical outlets and secure it firmly (click system).
  3. Make sure the WHIS device is off during charging.
  4. Plug the charger into the charging port located at the bottom of the device, behind the rubber cap.
  5. An LED lights up on the top part during charging.
  6. When the battery is fully charged (3 to 4 hours), the LED turns off.
  7. Unplug the charger from the outlet after charging.

Safety instructions

  • Keep the device out of reach of children and animals.
  • The packaging contains small accessories that may be swallowed or inhaled.
  • Avoid heating above 60°C and prolonged direct exposure to sunlight and fire.
  • Stop using the product immediately if it overheats (or if there is a problem with the charging connector).
  • Do not expose to moisture or water.
  • Avoid short circuits.
  • Do not damage or disassemble.
  • Stop using immediately if the battery is defective.
  • Use only original parts.
  • After use, turn off both the receiver and the transmitter.
  • Use only the original charger and always unplug it after charging.
  • If the unit is unused for a long time, recharge the battery about every 3 months.
  • Charge the battery only between 10°C and 40°C.
  • Dispose of the whole unit or parts according to current regulations (special waste) or return to the supplier.
  • Incorrect use of batteries/chargers can cause leaks, heat, fire, explosion, smoke, or hazardous gases.
  • Claims for damages resulting from improper handling are excluded.

Maintenance and care

The WHIS is splash-resistant, but immersion in water (or other liquids) can damage the components. Liquids inside the parts can cause short circuits and damage.

  • Before cleaning, make sure the devices are turned off and not connected to the charger/power outlet.
  • Use only a dry, soft cloth.
  • Keep the earphones plugged in as much as possible to avoid cable breaks and wear on the jack.
  • Built-in Li-ion battery life: 3 years / 800 cycles. To optimize: avoid full discharge.
  • Store WHIS in a dry place. If unused for a long time: battery ideally half charged.

Warranty

Warranty 2 years on the WHIS device. Wear of sensitive parts (cables, earphones) is not covered. Keep your invoice as proof of purchase / warranty certificate. Warranty applies by repair or replacement of defective parts (replaced parts become the property of WHIS).

Excluded (among others): cable breakage, water damage, battery life (capacity decreasing over time), errors due to misuse, mechanical damage, wear/strain, modifications by third parties, violence. Warranty is void if the device is opened or repaired by unauthorized persons.

Before using the equipment, you must follow the specific rules applicable in your country of residence.


Environment

At end of life, do not dispose of the product with household waste: take it to an electrical and electronic equipment recycling point. Used/defective batteries must be taken to dedicated collection points (chemical waste / battery collection).

Never dispose of used batteries with household waste.
