The “Magic System” combines the flexibility of a jointed bit with the control provided by a straight mouthpiece. Its exclusive patented design prevents the bit from closing completely, avoiding the risk of injury to the tongue and palate.
The mouthpiece is made of mild steel coated with a blue layer (“sweet iron”). When exposed to moisture, warmth, and air, it develops a sweet-tasting surface rust that stimulates salivation and encourages acceptance of the bit. The blue coating eventually disappears, but the taste of the surface rust remains. On a fixed-ring bit, the rings do not rotate freely, so the aids have a more direct action than with a loose-ring bit. This type of bit is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece remains relatively stable in the horse’s mouth.

🐎 Why choose this product?
The supplier recommends this bit for strong horses and experienced riders. The Magic System provides more control than a standard joint, while the fixed-ring design already makes the aids more direct: this is a choice to be made with full awareness, not a beginner’s bit.
🧴 Care and use
If the bit is left unused for some time, a brown-orange layer of rust may form on the mouthpiece: a damp cloth is sufficient to remove it. ⚠️ Do not try to remove the surface rust with an abrasive product—it is what provides the desired taste. Measure the width from one ring to the other, with the mouthpiece stretched out. ⚠️ A bit that is too narrow pinches the corners of the mouth; one that is too wide moves around in the mouth and knocks against the teeth. Allow approximately half a centimeter of mouthpiece to be visible on each side.
