The loose rings allow the mouthpiece to move in the horse’s mouth: the horse finds its own position, while the aids remain clear. It is the ultimate everyday work bit. The single-jointed mouthpiece acts on the bars and the corners of the mouth, with a slight pinching effect on the palate when both reins are used together. This is the most widely used type of bit, one that most horses are already familiar with. The entire KavalBit range is handcrafted and hand-finished, using an alloy of 70% brass and 30% German silver. Brass has a taste that horses readily accept and it encourages salivation; the cheeks are made of stainless steel, with no free nickel, so there is no risk for sensitive horses. It offers excellent corrosion resistance.
