A loose-ring bridoon with fixed oval rings, made of blue-patinated mild steel, with a curved mouthpiece.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a sweet-tasting surface oxidation that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ One-piece, curved mouthpiece with no joint.
- ✔ Small fixed rings: stable position in the mouth and direct action. This format can be used as a bridoon on a double bridle (12 mm) or as a mouthpiece for a hackamore (12 or 16 mm).

🧴 Care and use instructions
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or measure the bit it currently wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it squeezes the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
