Handcrafted bradoon bit, made of brass and German silver.

This is the bradoon for double bridle use: a thin mouthpiece with small rings, fitted above the curb bit on its own headpiece. It retains the action of a snaffle while the curb bit refines the horse’s outline. The single-jointed mouthpiece acts on the bars and the corners of the mouth, with a slight pinching effect on the palate when both reins are used together. This is the most widely used type of bit, and one that most horses are already familiar with. The entire KavalBit range is shaped and finished by hand, using an alloy of 70% brass and 30% German silver. Brass has a taste that horses readily accept and it encourages salivation; the shanks are made of stainless steel, with no free nickel, so there is no risk for sensitive horses. It offers excellent corrosion resistance.
