Soft leather is Kavalkade’s specialty. The girth is built around a nylon core that gives it structure, wrapped in foam that absorbs jolts, and finished with very supple leather. The result: a girth that follows the horse’s movement instead of restricting it, and that does not stiffen over time. The Moon solves a specific problem. On a horse with narrow shoulders, a short back, and a broad rib cage, the saddle slips forward no matter what you do. The half-moon shape brings the point of support back and prevents this slipping, while keeping the elbow clear.

🧴 Care instructions
Remove mud and sweat with a damp cloth after every ride, then condition the leather with glycerin soap once or twice a month. Leave it to dry flat, away from a heat source: leather that dries too quickly becomes stiff and loses its softness.
