This curb bit is made of solid Cuprigan — an alloy of 89% copper, 7% aluminum, 3% iron, and 1% zinc — mounted on stainless steel components. As it oxidizes, the material releases a pleasant smell and taste. Its anatomical shape conforms to the horse’s mouth and distributes pressure gently and evenly.
This curb bit has a slight tongue relief and fixed 140 mm shanks. The curb chain is included. A curb bit is used in combination with a bridoon. This setup allows the rider to respond directly and position the head and neck with greater precision.

🐎 Why choose this product?
⚠️ The supplier describes this bit’s action as strong. That is characteristic of a curb bit: the shanks and curb chain amplify the effect of the hand. It must never be used on its own, but always with a bridoon, and is intended for an established horse-and-rider partnership.
🧴 Care instructions
Rinse the bit with clean water after each use. ⚠️ Cuprigan will tarnish and turn green as it oxidizes: this is normal behavior for the alloy, not a defect, and it should not be removed with an abrasive product. Measure the width from one ring to the other with the mouthpiece stretched out. ⚠️ A bit that is too narrow pinches the corners of the mouth; one that is too wide moves around in the mouth and knocks against the teeth.
