A blue-patinated Sweet Iron eggbutt bridle snaffle with a barrel featuring brass rings.
✨ Key benefits
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a sweet-tasting surface oxidation that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Barrel fitted with brass rings in the center. It is suitable for horses with a “dead” mouth that need stimulation, and increases tongue activity.
- ✔ Small fixed rings: stable position in the mouth and direct action. This format is used as a snaffle on a double bridle (12 mm) or as a barrel for a hackamore (12 or 16 mm).

🐎 Why choose this product?
The brass reawakens a mouth that no longer salivates or shows activity: this is a restart bit, not an everyday bit.
🧴 Usage tips
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the barrel from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse’s mouth with a bit ruler, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brownish gray with use, and an orange coating appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ On a horse that is already restless in the mouth, this stimulation may have the opposite effect.
