Soft leather on the straps, firm leather on the plate: the right leather for each area.
A stud guard girth features a wide abdominal plate that covers the underside of the horse’s belly. It protects the horse from its own studs when landing after a jump or during cross-country: a stud strike in this area can cause a long-healing wound. The Julius takes this principle further: soft leather on the side straps to conform to the body, but firm leather on the abdominal plate, where it needs to absorb the impact of a stud. Extra-soft padding under the plate, an anatomical cut, and triple elastic on both sides.

🐎 Why choose this product?
Using two different leathers on the same girth is not a marketing gimmick: soft leather does not absorb the impact of a stud, while hard leather can restrict the elbow. Here, each type is used where it belongs.
🧴 Care instructions
Remove mud and sweat with a damp cloth after every ride, then condition the leather with glycerin soap once or twice a month. Leave it to dry flat, away from a heat source: leather that is dried too quickly becomes stiff and loses its suppleness.
Composition
80% leather, 7% EVA, 5% polypropylene, 5% stainless steel, 3% cotton.
