SANDEX

A horse grazing in a sandy paddock ingests sand, which then builds up. SANDEX is a granulated supplement made from psyllium husks, a source of soluble fibers called mucilage. When they come into contact with water, they swell and form a lubricating gel that helps expel sand, soil, and other sediment from the digestive tract in the droppings.

SANDEX also has a positive effect on the microbiome: the soluble fibers in psyllium husks serve as a substrate for the fermentation of microorganisms in the hindgut, thereby supporting a balanced and diverse gut flora.
