Kavalkade Size Guide – Children’s Half Chaps
Kavalkade children’s half chaps are selected by calf circumference and shaft height, just like adult models. The age range is only a guide: measure the leg instead.
Neoprene models — Lotta and Lasse
| Size | Calf circumference | Height |
|---|---|---|
| 6–8 years | 26 cm | 29 cm |
| 8–10 years | 28 cm | 31 cm |
| 10–12 years | 30 cm | 33 cm |
Synthetic model — Combi children’s
| Size | Calf circumference | Height |
|---|---|---|
| 6–8 years | 26 cm | 33 cm |
| 8–10 years | 28 cm | 35 cm |
| 10–12 years | 30 cm | 37 cm |
With the same calf circumference, the Combi children’s model is 4 cm taller than the neoprene models. This is the difference to consider if your child has long legs, or conversely if the shaft of a previous pair came up below the knee.
How to measure
- Calf circumference — wearing riding breeches, with the knee bent as it would be in the saddle, wrap a tape measure around the widest part of the calf.
- Height — from the floor to the crease behind the knee, along the side of the leg.
Children grow quickly: if the measurement falls between two sizes, choose the larger size. The neoprene in the Lotta and Lasse models is stretchy and accommodates a slight excess.
