Handcrafted D-ring bit in brass and German silver.
The D-rings combine the stability of eggbutt rings with clear lateral action, without the bulk of full-cheek bits. This is the traditional bit for hunters and young horses jumping. The double-jointed mouthpiece eliminates the nutcracker effect of a single joint: the central link rests on the tongue instead of rising toward the palate. Pressure is distributed across the bars, tongue, and corners of the mouth. The entire KavalBit range is shaped and finished by hand from an alloy of 70% brass and 30% German silver. Brass has a flavor that horses readily accept and encourages salivation; the shanks are made of stainless steel, with no free nickel, making them safe for sensitive horses. Corrosion resistance is excellent.

🧴 Care instructions
Rinse the bit with clean water after each use and dry it: that's all it requires. Avoid the dishwasher and abrasive products, which can dull the metal. Regularly check the wear on the joints and rings, and replace the bit as soon as any play appears.
