✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Double-jointed with a figure-eight-shaped center plate that distributes pressure evenly across the tongue. Its finer edges make the action slightly more pronounced than that of a standard double-jointed bit, and the plate is angled at 45° so it rests flat on the tongue.
- ✔ Similar to a Kimblewick, with greater leverage. It can be used with one or two reins: the lower the rein is attached, the stronger the action.

🧴 Instructions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a ruler, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it squeezes the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ A curb chain is essential. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brownish-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is the normal behavior of Sweet Iron, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
