When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.

✔ A simple joint that locks as it folds: under rein tension, the mouthpiece then behaves like a straight bar, which intensifies its action. As soon as the tension eases, it becomes a simple joint again.

✔ A milder version of the three-ring (Pessoa): leverage is present and becomes more direct when the rein is attached lower down. The loose rings allow more movement than a version with fixed rings.

✔ Corrective mouthpiece, designed for horses that lean on the hand or run through the contact.

📋 Technical specifications

Type: 2.5-ring bit

Material: Sweet Iron

Mouthpiece: locking jointed

Mouthpiece thickness: 16 mm

Sizes (mm): 115 / 125 / 135 / 145

🐎 Why choose this product?

It gives you two bits in one: a simple joint when the hand is light, and a straight bar as soon as the horse leans on it. The horse discovers for itself that it is better not to pull.

🧴 Usage advice

⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Leverage acts on the poll: use it with a light hand and check the cheekpiece adjustment. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0624/0029/9177/files/E26828_L050_01_58b50430-ff84-4e39-b348-ae605b321c64.jpg?v=1788473630
