When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.

✔ Double-jointed with a wide tongue relief. Unlike other double-jointed bits, it reduces pressure on the tongue instead of increasing it.

✔ A gentler version of the three-ring (Pessoa) bit: it provides leverage, which becomes more direct when the rein is attached lower down. The loose rings allow more movement in the bit than a version with fixed rings.

✔ Used on horses that do not accept pressure on the tongue.

📋 Technical specifications

Type: 2.5-ring bit

Material: Sweet Iron

Mouthpiece: Wideport Segundo with tongue relief

Mouthpiece thickness: 16 mm

Sizes (mm): 115 / 125 / 135 / 145

🐎 Why choose this product?

The only double-jointed bit that reduces pressure on the tongue instead of increasing it: the answer for horses that resist tongue pressure.

🧴 Usage advice

⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The leverage acts on the poll: use it with a light hand and check the cheekpiece adjustment. ⚠️ The blue colour changes to silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0624/0029/9177/files/E26835_L050_01_cc773656-e6f3-403c-a4a8-1fd447157c07.jpg?v=1788473637
https://selleriebucephale.com/en/products/mors-trust-sweet-iron-a-2-5-anneaux-wideport-segundo-a-passage-de-langue
