When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.

✔ A series of articulated elliptical links: the barrel follows every contour and provides no fixed point of leverage. Used on horses that are heavy in the hand and have difficulty relaxing their jaw.

✔ The rings slide freely along the barrel. The action of the hand is therefore less direct than with fixed-ring snaffles: the bit moves, so the horse cannot lean against a fixed point of leverage.

📋 Technical specifications

Type: loose-ring snaffle

Material: Sweet Iron

Barrel: Waterford with balls

Barrel thickness: 16 mm

Sizes (mm): 115 / 125 / 135 / 145

🐎 Why choose this product?

There is no fixed point of leverage, so a strong horse cannot find anything to lean against. Reserve it for confident hands, as its mobility leaves no room for an unsteady hand.

🧴 Instructions for use

⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the barrel from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit ruler, or measure the bit it currently wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Fit rubber bit guards: pinching occurs between the movable ring and the barrel. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ Very mobile barrel; reserve for experienced, steady hands.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0624/0029/9177/files/E28097_L050_01_ca5b9c18-f712-48e4-93c9-e5c620bc1e27.jpg?v=1788471840
