Measure your horse’s mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it constricts the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Fit rubber bit guards: it is between the moving ring and the barrel that the corner of the mouth gets pinched. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it.
