When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.

✔ The single joint locks as soon as it bends: under rein tension, the mouthpiece then acts like a straight mouthpiece, which increases its action. As soon as the tension eases, it becomes a single-jointed mouthpiece again.

✔ The rings slide freely through the mouthpiece, and their large diameter provides more leverage than a standard ring.

✔ Corrective mouthpiece, designed for horses that lean on the hand or run through the contact.

📋 Technical specifications

Type: bit with large loose rings

Material: Sweet Iron

Mouthpiece: locked joint

Mouthpiece thickness: 16 mm

Sizes (mm): 115 / 125 / 135 / 145

🐎 Why choose this product?

It provides two bits in one: a single joint when the hand is light, and a straight mouthpiece as soon as the horse leans on it. The horse discovers for itself that it is better not to pull.

🧴 Directions for use

⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Fit rubber bit guards: it is between the movable ring and the mouthpiece that the corner of the mouth gets pinched. ⚠️ The blue colour changes to silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orangey film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0624/0029/9177/files/E27023_L050_01_2a72d3ed-febb-42a7-a321-9b7f3252eac0.jpg?v=1788471921
https://selleriebucephale.com/en/products/mors-trust-sweet-iron-a-grands-anneaux-libres-a-brisure-verrouillee
