When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.

✔ Single twisted joint that locks when it bends: under tension, the mouthpiece acts like a straight mouthpiece, then becomes single-jointed again as soon as the hand gives. The twist adds edges, resulting in a sharper action.

✔ Fixed-ring cheekpiece extended by an upper shank to which the bridle attaches. The bit remains very stable in the mouth.

📋 Technical specifications

Type: Baucher bit

Material: Sweet Iron

Mouthpiece: twisted, locking jointed

Mouthpiece thickness: 16 mm

Sizes (mm): 115 / 125 / 135 / 145

🐎 Why choose this product?

It combines a locking joint with a twist: one of the firmest mouthpieces in the range, reserved for horses that run through the rider's hand.

🧴 How to use

⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal for Sweet Iron, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ Corrective mouthpiece for horses that lean on the bit or run through the hand. Not suitable for sensitive horses or inexperienced riders.

https://selleriebucephale.com/en/products/mors-trust-sweet-iron-baucher-torsade-a-brisure-verrouillee
