When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.

✔ Single joint with two twisted branches. The twisting creates edges, resulting in a sharper action on the bars than a smooth single joint.

✔ A combination of a hackamore and a bit: pressure is distributed between the mouth and the nose. The short shanks provide moderate leverage. An adjustment screw is located above the mouthpiece.

📋 Technical specifications

Type: short combined hackamore bit

Material: Sweet Iron

Mouthpiece: twisted, single-jointed

Mouthpiece thickness: 16 mm

Sizes (mm): 115 / 125 / 135 / 145

🐎 Why choose this product?

The twisting sharpens the action on the bars: this is a bit for occasional corrective use and should not be left in a horse's mouth for extended periods.

🧴 Usage advice

⚠️ A bit's size is given in millimetres: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a ruler, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The hackamore acts on the nose bridge: make sure the noseband rests on the bone and not on the cartilage of the nostrils. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is the normal behaviour of Sweet Iron, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ This mouthpiece is not suitable for sensitive horses or inexperienced riders.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0624/0029/9177/files/E25762_L050_01_0910f6c2-2816-4332-bec4-8f3ee8b531f6.jpg?v=1788710776
https://selleriebucephale.com/en/products/mors-trust-sweet-iron-hackamore-combine-court-torsade-a-brisure-simple
