When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.

✔ Single joint. This mouthpiece puts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed one and works mainly on the bars and sides of the tongue. It is the standard mouthpiece.

✔ Fixed ring cheekpiece extended by an upper shank to which the bridle attaches. The bit remains very stable in the mouth. Dimensions in the TRUST pony collection: thinner mouthpiece and smaller shanks.

📋 Technical specifications

Type: pony Baucher bit

Material: Sweet Iron

Mouthpiece: single joint

Mouthpiece thickness: 12 mm

Sizes (mm): 95 / 105 / 115

🐎 Why choose this product?

This is the mouthpiece most horses are familiar with: the one to start with, and the one to return to when you want to determine what comes from the bit and what comes from the rider's hand.

🧴 Usage advice

⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is the normal functioning of Sweet Iron, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0624/0029/9177/files/E26431_L050_01_11ecb2f9-3665-42e8-b3c6-31c8b3c8de70.jpg?v=1788643841
