When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.

✔ One-piece, curved, unjointed mouthpiece.

✔ Fixed ring equipped with two small rings for the gag cheekpieces. The bit encourages the horse to raise its head. Fixed rings transmit the action more directly than loose-ring gag bits. The pressure points are the poll and the corners of the mouth.

📋 Technical specifications

Type: curved eggbutt gag bit

Material: Sweet Iron

Mouthpiece: curved

Mouthpiece thickness: 16 mm

Sizes (mm): 145

🐎 Why choose this product?

A one-piece mouthpiece whose curve accommodates the center of the tongue.

🧴 Usage advice

⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it squeezes the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The gag cheekpiece replaces the usual bridle cheekpiece. Two reins allow you to adjust the effect. ⚠️ The blue colour changes to silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0624/0029/9177/files/E27331_L050_01_ef4c3e95-7b46-4812-8983-56287215d2b3.jpg?v=1788643009
