When exposed to moist air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.

✔ Straight mouthpiece with low tongue relief. It gives the tongue a little more room and distributes pressure correctly across the bars.

✔ Two D-shaped rings that do not tip back and forth: greater stability and more direct action. The D shape increases lateral pressure against the cheek, making steering easier.

📋 Technical specifications

Type: Verdun bit (D-rings)

Material: Sweet Iron

Mouthpiece: low tongue relief

Mouthpiece thickness: 16 mm

Sizes (mm): 115 / 125 / 135 / 145

🐎 Why choose this product?

A little more room for the tongue without freeing up the palate: the first step toward tongue freedom when a single-jointed mouthpiece applies too much pressure in the center.

🧴 Instructions for use

⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0624/0029/9177/files/E25859_L050_01_4ace85e3-5d78-4884-bd6c-8be151e799ce.jpg?v=1788473516
https://selleriebucephale.com/en/products/mors-trust-sweet-iron-verdun-anneaux-en-d-a-passage-de-langue-bas
