This bit is made of solid Cuprigan—a 89% copper, 7% aluminum, 3% iron, and 1% zinc alloy—mounted on stainless steel rings. As it oxidizes, the material releases a pleasant smell and taste. Its anatomical shape follows the contours of the mouth and distributes pressure gently and evenly. On an eggbutt bit, the rings do not rotate freely, so the aids have a more direct effect than with a loose-ring bit. This type of bit is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece remains relatively stable in the horse’s mouth.

🐎 Why choose this product?
With a double-jointed bit, the mouthpiece consists of three parts, and the central section lies flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than a single-jointed bit, but eliminates the V-shaped effect toward the palate.
🧴 Care instructions
Rinse the bit with clean water after each use. ⚠️ Cuprigan becomes dull and green as it oxidizes: this is the alloy’s normal behavior, not a defect, and it should not be removed with an abrasive product.
