Kavalkade Size Guide – Boots
An riding boot is chosen based on three measurements: shoe size, calf circumference, and lower-leg length. That is why each shoe size is available in several shaft fits—and why it is worth taking two minutes to measure yourself.
Taking your measurements
- Calf circumference — wearing riding breeches and, if you wear them, your riding socks. Bend your knee as if you were in the saddle, then wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your calf.
- Lower-leg length — standing with your feet on the floor: place the measuring tape on the floor against the side of your leg and measure up to the hollow of your knee.
- Shoe size — your usual shoe size. Kavalkade boots fit true to size.

Three fits without manufacturer measurements
Three fits are sold without appearing in the official chart: XXS ultra-wide calf and XS extra-wide calf for the Maximus, and XXL for the Proximo. We prefer to point this out rather than estimate their measurements. We have asked the manufacturer; write to us if you are interested in one of these fits.
Two points to keep in mind
- If you are between two calf measurements, choose the larger fit: leather relaxes slightly with wear, whereas a compressed calf remains uncomfortable from the very first hour.
- A new boot always seems too tall. This is normal: the leather settles by 1 to 2 cm around the ankle during the first few weeks, and the shaft drops by the same amount. Choose the correct length, not a shorter one.
