- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacture by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ Double-jointed mouthpiece with an elliptical center link. This shape better follows the anatomy of the mouth and allows the bit to sit more freely, but it exerts slightly more pressure on the center of the tongue than a single-jointed mouthpiece.
- ✔ Fixed cheekpiece fitted with two small rings for the gag cheekpieces. The bit encourages the horse to raise its head. Fixed rings transmit the action more directly than a gag bit with loose rings. The pressure points are the poll and the corners of the mouth.

🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The gag cheekpiece replaces the usual bridle cheekpiece. Two reins allow you to adjust the effect. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
