A fly veil is primarily used to prevent flies and gnats from getting into the horse’s ears—and therefore to prevent the horse from shaking its head during work. This one does the job well, thanks to its woven cotton ears, which are solid: a fully crocheted veil would let insects through.

The body, meanwhile, is crocheted, allowing air to circulate and preventing the head from overheating. Decorative braid, knitted trim, and rhinestone logo.

✨ Key features

  • ✔ Solid woven cotton ears: flies and gnats cannot get in
  • ✔ The horse stops shaking its head during work
  • ✔ Crocheted body: optimal ventilation, preventing the head from overheating
  • ✔ Decorative braid, knitted trim, and rhinestone logo, for outings

📋 Technical specifications

  • Body: crocheted, ventilated
  • Ears: woven cotton
  • Finishes: decorative braid, knitted trim, rhinestone logo

🐎 Why choose this product?

A horse that shakes its head because of a fly in its ear can no longer work properly: it resists, and this is often mistaken for a problem with the bit or the rider’s hands. The fly veil addresses this specific cause, which is its purpose. If your horse is also distracted by noise, choose models with sound-absorbing neoprene ears, which provide this additional function.

🧴 Care instructions

Check that the ears do not compress the base of the horse’s ears: a veil that is too short will make the horse shake its head, exactly what we were trying to prevent. Hand wash and lay flat to dry to prevent the crochet from losing its shape.

Composition: knitted polyester, cotton, rhinestones.
