An overreach boot covers the heel and the edge of the coronary band, where the hind hoof can strike when the horse pulls off a shoe or treads on itself. It is the horse’s most affordable form of protection and prevents the injury that takes the longest to heal. The synthetic fleece edge protects the coronary band without the special care required by genuine fleece.
🧴 Care and use instructions
⚠️ An overreach boot that is too large will turn and be stepped on; one that is too small will rub the coronary band. When the hoof is on the ground, it should touch the ground at the back, but no more. Place it on a clean, dry hoof with the opening facing backward and the Velcro pointing outward, so that a branch cannot open it. It should rest on the ground without pressing against the coronary band. ⚠️ Remove it after the session. Rinse with clean water after use and leave to air-dry. Check the condition of the Velcro regularly: it is the first part to fail.
