A bell boot covers the heel and the edge of the coronet, where the hind hoof can strike when the horse loses a shoe or interferes. It is the least expensive form of protection for the horse, and the one that prevents the injury that takes the longest to heal. Synthetic sheepskin provides the softness of genuine sheepskin without the maintenance: it can be machine washed and dried.
🧴 Usage instructions
⚠️ A bell boot that is too large will twist and be stepped on; one that is too small will rub the coronet. When the hoof is on the ground, it should touch the ground at the back, but no further. Place it on a clean, dry hoof, with the opening facing backward and the Velcro facing outward so that a branch cannot open it. It should rest on the ground without tightening around the coronet. ⚠️ Remove it after the session. Machine wash and dry at 30°C.
