Handcrafted D-ring bit, made of brass and nickel silver.
The D-rings combine the stability of eggbutt rings with clear lateral action, without the bulk of full-cheek snaffles. This is the traditional bit for hunters and young horses jumping. The single joint acts on the bars and corners of the mouth, with a slight pinching effect on the palate when both reins are used together. It is the most widely used mouthpiece, one that most horses are already familiar with. The entire KavalBit range is shaped and finished by hand, using an alloy of 70% brass and 30% nickel silver. Brass has a taste that horses readily accept and encourages salivation; the shanks are made of stainless steel, with no free nickel, so there is no risk for sensitive horses. Corrosion resistance is excellent.

🐎 Why choose this product?
Brass and nickel silver have a taste that horses readily accept and that encourages salivation. Add stainless-steel shanks with no free nickel and handcrafting, and you get a bit that is suitable even for horses sensitive to metals.
🧴 Care instructions
Rinse the bit with clean water after each use and dry it: that is all it needs. Avoid the dishwasher and abrasive products, which dull the metal. Regularly check the joints and rings for wear, and replace the bit as soon as any play appears.
