A hackamore applies pressure to the nose and jaw, including through its shanks. Where the shank touches the cheek, the skin is thin: a padded shank protector helps prevent irritation, especially on a horse that spends long periods outdoors or has sensitive skin.

🧴 Care instructions

Clean the leather with glycerin soap, then condition it. ⚠️ Never dry it near a heat source: the leather will harden and crack.

The little story...

I founded Sellerie Bucéphale in 2008 by opening a shop in the Drôme department (in France) because, as a dressage rider, I couldn’t find suitable equipment in the area. My presence quickly expanded by attending dressage competitions, local contests, and national and international events.

To meet the needs of all riders, I developed a website, allowing everyone to access high-quality technical products that are tested and approved.

Since 2016, I have been based in the city of Orange (in France) and am a partner of the regional dressage circuits.

I strive to offer custom-made and customizable items, and I place great importance on direct relationships with my customers.
