This bit is made from solid Cuprigan—a 89% copper, 7% aluminium, 3% iron, and 1% zinc alloy—mounted on stainless-steel rings. As it oxidizes, the material releases a pleasant smell and taste. Its anatomical shape follows the contours of the mouth and distributes pressure gently and evenly. On this model, the central joint is angled and the mouthpiece forms a more open curve towards the rings, instead of breaking sharply on either side of the link. The mouthpiece therefore follows the shape of the mouth more closely. On an eggbutt bit, the rings do not rotate freely, so the aids have a more direct action than with a loose-ring bit. This type of bit is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece remains relatively stable in the mouth.

✨ Key features

  • ✔ Eggbutt design: fixed rings, stable mouthpiece, more direct action
  • ✔ Anatomical shape: pressure is distributed without pressure points
  • ✔ 14 mm mouthpiece, 65 mm oval cheeks

🐎 Why choose this product?

This is the most anatomically shaped version of the Soft Contact double-jointed bit. The angle of the central link and the curve of the mouthpiece make it follow the shape of the mouth rather than crossing it in a zigzag line. For a horse with limited space under the tongue, or one that does not accept a more angular mouthpiece, this geometric detail makes the difference—more than the diameter.

🧴 Care instructions

Rinse the bit with clean water after each use. ⚠️ Cuprigan tarnishes and turns green as it oxidizes: this is the alloy functioning normally, not a defect, and it should not be removed with an abrasive product.
