We recommend using a soft tape measure. Starting from the center of the horse's chest, run the tape horizontally across the point of the shoulder and continue to the furthest point of the rear corner.
It is very important to ensure the rug is the right size for your horse. A well-fitting rug will self-adjust and prevent rubbing and slipping, which can cause discomfort. Since horses come in all shapes and sizes, it is important to consider conformation when choosing rug size.
