🐎 Why choose this product?

The smaller sizes are designed for ponies and Shetlands: a shortened horse rug is not a substitute for a cut designed for their build. A waterproof sheet is not a turnout rug for cold weather: without insulation, it keeps out rain and wind but does not provide warmth. That is exactly what an unclipped horse living outdoors needs—the horse keeps its coat for warmth, while the sheet prevents it from becoming soaked. ⚠️ An insulated rug is needed for a clipped horse or in very cold weather.

🧴 Care and usage advice

Brush the sheet while dry rather than washing it too often: each wash damages the waterproof coating. ⚠️ Do not use fabric softener, as it clogs the breathable membrane. After a few seasons, a re-waterproofing product for technical fabrics can restore its water-repellent properties. ⚠️ The stated size is the back length: measure your horse from the withers to the base of the tail, along the spine. A rug that is too short pulls on the shoulders and rubs the withers; one that is too long shifts around and may cause the horse to catch its feet in it.

The little story...

I founded Sellerie Bucéphale in 2008, opening a shop in the Drôme department (in France) because, as a dressage rider, I could not find suitable equipment in the region. My presence quickly expanded through participation in dressage shows, local competitions, and national and international events.

To meet the needs of all riders, I developed a website, giving everyone access to high-quality technical products that have been tested and approved.

Since 2016, I have been based in the city of Orange (in France) and have been a partner of regional dressage circuits.

I strive to offer bespoke and customizable items, and I attach great importance to direct relationships with my customers.
